The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) developed the first-ever Industry Climate Charter in the Hong Kong insurance market.
It is a collaborative commitment of the insurance industry to build a more sustainable future and demonstrate the concerted efforts in helping address climate change.
As aptly pointed out by the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, in his remark at the Asian Insurance Forum in December 2023, the Climate Charter shows “a united commitment to responding to the climate crisis”.
The Climate Charter received the support from our Members and the Insurance Authority, where the HKFI is organizing a special ceremony to launch the Climate Charter officially and capturing this important milestone.
Following the launching ceremony, there will be an Industry Knowledge Exchange Forum, gathering multidisciplinary experts to discuss topics pertinent to Life Insurance and General Insurance respectively, including navigating sustainable investment and risk management under extreme weather (property focus).
