活動簡介

This summer programme for high school and university students introduces them to the frontiers of research in observational astronomy, suitable for both science and non-science students alike – for which the only mathematical skill required is simple algebra. Focus will be placed on three topics that have won the Nobel Prize in Physics over the past 15 years: (i) how Exoplanets are discovered and their physical properties measured; (ii) evidence for and confirmation of the existence of Black Holes; and (iii) discovery that Dark Energy determines the fate of the Universe. Along with a special topic that has garnered immense public interest: extraterrestrial visitors! The programme includes viewing and imaging astronomical objects through telescopes (both in Hong Kong and remotely from Spain), as well as how to make colour renditions of astronomical images.(只有英文)
